Mentor's Promise

My focus is always child centred.

Conversations are confidential, but safeguarding is paramount.

No legal advice will be given, but information about court processes will be provided.

Client to make their own decisions following discussions with mentor.

Mentoring service is non-judgemental and strengths-based , respecting the diversity of the client.

Terms and Conditions

On receipt of referral there will be a conversation about the service required.

There will be agreement on the number of sessions needed, how and when they will take place.

Payment for the session will be made in advance.

Minimal client information will be retained and for the shortest time required.

Mentoring Process

The conversation content will depend on the expressed needs of the client. A typical session may include:

Client telling their story.

Client sharing the problem, issue or concern.

Client discussing their position and desired goals.

Discussing the needs of the child(ren).

Mentor sharing information about courts, proceedings and role of court professionals.

Mentor discussing parenting plans, child arrangements, reducing conflict, improving communication.

Discussing together options and agreed actions.

Agree together any further support or information.

Mentor emails a summary of the session with agreed actions and any further mentor support.
